oh the rivalry. 2 cities, lots of hatred. its mutual though, so its ok. red sox vs yankees. bad accents vs worse accents. 'simple color coded inefficient' subway vs 'super confusing squiggly line gets you where you need to go' subway. and i need to make a decision, asap. im interviewing for residencies and have my last 2 in nyc. im here now. and im weirdly hoping that some thing either terrible or awesome happens on this trip. like finding a winning lottery ticket on the ground (but not dirty ground) or chipping a nail (unfortunately, my mind is racing with bad scenarios esp with the massive amounts of law and order ive been watching). this way my decision will be made for me as to whether i love or hate nyc. but for now, while i am getting my surveymonkey ready for you to decide for me where to go, i will make a list of + vs - for nyc. i will update it as i stay here.
nyc
-1 rat way too close for comfort. potentially disease carrying.
+2 crossword from today had answers of "buenos aires" and "nyu". is it a sign if i interviewed at nyu today AND going to BA on monday? of course it is. and thats why it gets 2 points.
+1/2 yes, we are going into fractions. i get asked directions all the time so it must look like i belong here. thats nice. but then i sounds mean when im like 'i have no clue' i think people think i just dont want to talk to them. which is only partially true. i really just dont know. and if there is one thing ive learned in life its 'fake it to you make it'. im faking it and hopefully ill be making it. look like you know what you are doing. thank you medicine for teaching me something.
