TGI (Th)?

This is a cultural trip, you know. Cultural credit.
first of all, i would like to tell the unknowing non jews over that that even the week is different here. we have off friday and saturday, work on sunday. last week at work everyone was like 'oh, thank goodness its thursday!" and i was like.....no!...you killed a phrase that meant that your favorite tv shows were on (family matters, step by step....crap, i keep forgetting the other ones)....and now theyve changed it for their own purposes. although i have to agree, thank goodness its thursday. well, almost.
second, i sat down with the chair of the peds dept today who is one of the nicest people ever (i think next week we are going to take a half day off, play hookie, and then go to a museum). we decided that since i have no idea what is happening on rounds (not because im dumb, only because im hebrew dumb), that instead id have cultural rounds. where i try to figure out everyones background. because i cant tell the difference between jews, druz, arabs, etc. everyone speaks a language that i dont understand and can zone out really really easily. but everyone comes to be treated at this hospital. for those of you who that israel was just jews, you are totally wrong. haifa is incredibly diverse in religion, original nationality, etc. more on this later as i delve into each group, their interactions with medical care, conflict etc etc. it will be interesting.

more from me later. we'll get into the intense stuff soon. after i finish discussing fashion emergencies.

  1. Actually, I believe Full House was part of the original TGIF line-up, and so was that awful spin-off with Bob Saget and the Olsen twins. And then of course you have Boy Meets World, and who can forget Sabrina the Teenage Witch?

Sigh, I'm pathetic -- and I just gave away the fact that I had no life in high school and spent my weekends watching TGIF on Friday and SNICK on Sat...

  3. Sigh. The original TGIF lineup, in 1988-1989, was Perfect Strangers, Full House, Mr. Belvedere, and Just the Ten of Us. Family Matters and Step by Step came later.
